At Eltham Green Community Church we have noticed there could be more facilities for these people. With this in mind we introduced Time Out as a means of giving focus and sense of community.
Each Friday morning, we meet for tea, coffee, homemade bread pudding and cakes with over 55′s from the community. We have a ten minute message which they now look forward to hearing each week.
We have been so encouraged by the feedback we have had from them and their families. The sense of being part of something has really given them a new lease of life and they now look forward each week to meeting up and enjoying time together. Over the previous six years, we have had the privilege of sharing in their joys and sorrows, and being able to pray with them, for them and their families. We have seen God heal one particular lady quite miraculously, and she consequently came to know Jesus personally. We had the opportunity to pray with one elderly lady a few weeks ago who also gave started on her relationship with God.
One elderly lady of eighty five said she enjoys the friendly atmosphere, nice people and always looks forward to coming each week.
Another lady who comes from quite a distance away says she wouldn’t miss it for the world. It’s the highlight of her week!
Time Out opens it’s doors at 10.30am every Friday morning.
