Continuing in our foundations theme, today we look at Salvation - the central message to our faith. And yet sometimes the familiarity of the message can make us ‘forget who we are’. Ask God to open your heart in a fresh way this week to the wonder of His gift of salvation.

The idea of Man as a fallen race is unfashionable in today’s world. The modern ‘gospel’ is that man will continue to perfect himself until he is ultimately his own saviour. But the opposite is true. God created man perfect in a perfect world, man fell, and sin has corrupted him. How did sin come into the world? How does it pass through the generations? And how does it affect each one of us?

Patriotism is so often expressed in the waving of the national flag at ceremonies etc. It gives those waving a sense of identifying with a country or cause. The symbol we associate with Jesus is a cross, because He died on a cross which gave us eternal life. That is why as Christians we can wave our flags to show who we worship

Last week we looked at Jesus and his divinity. Because he is God we know that he is big enough for any situation. But Jesus is also fully man, we shall look at how Jesus was fully God and fully man, and how his humanity helps us today.
